Service Description

Family Jam Session is a biweekly class (every other Sunday morning); an interactive sing-a-long jam for kiddos and adults of all ages. We will create new songs from scratch, learn classic and modern tunes, and rock out in not-so-perfect but F-U-N harmony. Regardless of skill level, bring any musical instrument that moves you or just your unique voice; we can work and play with ANYONE! Each class ignites creativity with cooperative self expression, encourages laughter and collaboration, strengthens memory skills, and most importantly, sparks joy. In addition, families will form deeper connections with each other, and will bond to the sounds that everyone creates together. Family Jam Session is led by Scott Waldman, a magnetic and professional guitarist and singer. Scott Waldman has been teaching guitar, bass, and songwriting classes to children and adults of all ages for over thirty years. At age twenty, he was hired as a music teacher at Sports and Arts Center at Island Lake, a summer camp in rural Pennsylvania. Scott’s natural talent and charismatic personality was quickly rewarded as he got promoted to the music department head during his third year working at the camp. His adventures at Island Lake came full circle as his very first solo performance was actually there as a young camper! After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2003, Scott Waldman made the brave trek out to LA to pursue his own rock and roll dreams, and has been here ever since. In late-2003, he began playing in The City Drive, a pop-rock/pop-punk band with an ardent fan base. In 2004, the band signed with Sony and began a whirlwind of touring and playing music. After 4 years with The City Drive, Scott decided to part ways and develop his own project, Lido Beach. As regular performers at The Roxy, the Troubadour, and The Mint, Lido Beach also placed songs in "The Super Bowl," The NCAA Men’s “Final Four,” and various other television shows and movies. Currently, you can find Scott passionately teaching guitar, performing in backyards and on stages at private parties and events, or at home spending time with his family.
